Truck drivers transport goods, from urban distribution to long-haul and specialist loads such as tankers, timber trucks and concrete mixers. The job requires a category C or CE licence and a Certificate of Professional Competence (YKB), which must be renewed at regular intervals. Training often takes place on the vehicle and transport programme at upper secondary school or in adult education. Most drivers work for private hauliers and transport companies, and pay varies with the type of transport and experience.
